This event will consist of:
Part 1: Body Rhythms - The Teacher / Learner Within This is a movement workshop investigating an approach to creative learning, looking at the ability of an individual to educate and to be educated. The workshop draws from the teachings and practice of dance from the African Diaspora, reflective learning and Somatic practice, to creatively explore a more fluid and intuitive approach to teaching and learning. Through dance and various body work processes and exercises, the workshop works to stimulate one’s imagination, and to engage the individual in the act of critical thinking through feeling. This is an approach to learning that encourages a more embodied and creative engagement with learning through play, and creative exploration. Part 2: Warrior Dance - The Teacher / Learner Within Astehmari Batekun will introduce the principles of African Warrior dance as a tool for unifying the inner teacher and inner learner within each One. A Dance Revival in Freedom of Expression. |
